Crunchy Lavaş Chips
Here is a recipe to offer your friends at parties as finger food, as snack, accompanying their drinks. It is also great serving with soup for lunch and dinner instead of bread. Itis delicious. Garlicky, hot spicy and crunchy. Similar to tortilla chips.
Turkish lavaş is used in making this quick and easy recipe. Lavaş is a soft, thin flatbread of Armenian origin, popular in the Caucasus, Iran and Turkey. Now itis widely known and popular in Europe and in U.S.A too.
Ingredients :
- 3 lavaş/lavash
- 3 tbsp soft butter (room temperature)
- 2 tbsp or to taste red pepper flakes
- 2 -3 big cloves of garlic, crushed
- 3 tbsp grated parmesan/sesame seeds/nigella
How To:
Pre-heat oven to 180°C/350°F.
Place the butter in a bowl and stir with a fork to make sure it?s soft. Add all the other ingredients and stir until blended. You can use sesame seeds or nigella if you prefer. But cheese is a must, gives all the flavor.
Using a knife, spread the mixture over a sheet of lavaş making sure to spread all the way to the edges. Cut into even triangles with a knife or pizza cutter.
Place them in a single layer on a baking tray and put in the middle of your pre-heated oven. Bake for 5-7 minutes. Keep your eye on them as they can easily burn. Remove and cool on a wire rack.
Bon Apetit!
