Parmesan Scones
Home made scones which are really delicious, are the easiest treats you can make for breakfast and brunch. Puffy, hot and light they are best served warm from the oven. Nothing can taste better than these savoury scones that are quick and easy to make. They aren't just for tea time. Both sweet and savoury, they can be served any time of the day. The English serve it with jam and preserves. This time I added some cornflour to the recipe and it turned out to be really tasty, different and luscious. Try it you'll like it.
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup softened butter
- 2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup corn flour
- 4 cups all purpose flour
How To:
Grease a baking tray or muffin cups. Sift flour and corn flour into a bowl. Mix water, milk, yeast, eggs, parmesan, butter, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
Add the flour mixture to this, and stir. Turn dough onto floured surface, knead 5-6 minutes until smooth. Cover with plastic greased wrap, stand in warm place until dough has risen. Divide dough into egg size portions, knead into balls.
Place balls on the baking tray or muffin cups. Let stand for 30 more minutes. Bake in hot oven (350 F) for 15-20 minutes until gold brown.
Enjoy!
