Spinach Balls
These yummy appetizers are always a hit at parties.. Your guests won't be able to stop talking about these spinach balls. They can be served warm or at room temperature and great dipped in yogurt sauces or sauces made with mustard. These can also be frozen unbaked and popped into the oven when unexpected guests pop in. They are a great way to get kids to eat spinach too!!
Ingredients:
- 10 oz frozen spinach
- 6 slices of toast bread
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese/ mozzeralla
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion (finely grated)
- 3 cloves of garlic (pressed)
- black pepper
- salt
- 1 tsp of ground nutmeg
How To:
Preheat the oven. Oil a baking tray well. Cut toast bread slices into little cubes. Thaw and drain the spinach. Drain in a sieve, use the back of a wooden spoon to press the spinach against the sieve to get as much moisture as possible out.
Mix all the ingredients in a deep bowl, knead and form into wallnut size balls. Place them on the prepared baking tray. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes.
