Honey Flavored Chicken Wings
Today here in İstanbul at an activity organized by Anavarza Bal (Anavarza Honey) I was privileged to meet a great woman who describes herself "a kept woman of sorts"-by her bees. She is Debra Roberts who is a Master Beekeeper, Natural Beekeeping educator, speaker, mentor and writer.
She consults and collaborates with other artists on honeybee-related projects and mentors new beekeepers in their yards, by email, Skype and phone. Debra took us on a journey about exploring the natural side of raising honeybees and honey.
We discovered the secret of the additive-free journey that honey takes from bee to jar, bottle. It was just amazing. Later we took part in preparing and cooking 2 delicious dishes using Anavarza Honey in the professional kitchen of "Doors Academy". They were both great. Now I would like to share these recipes with you. Try them, you'll like them.
Ingredients:
- 11 oz chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 clove of garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- sesame seeds (to garnish)
How To:
Mix all ingredients in a big bowl. Add the chicken wings. Rub the sauce into the wings. Preheat the oven to 375F. Place the chicken with the sauce in an ovenproof container and bake until the chicken is cooked and caramelized. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve warm.
Bon Apetit!
