Orange Slices
Orange Slices are perfect for your summer get-togethers. It has become a favorite for adults for its quick and easy preparation as a cookie and for kids because of its flavor and taste.
While itis going to be among the invariably lasting recipes in my kitchen, I am sure it will be in yours too! With love from Oyas Cuisine to yours!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ tsp salt
Filling:
- ¼ cup flour
- 4 eggs
- 1,5 cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup orange juice
- 2 tbsp orange zest (about 2 oranges)
- 2 tsp orange liqueur
- 2 tbs slivered almonds
How To:
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Prepare a 9x13-inch pan with baking spray, then line the pan with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, combine 2 cups flour, 1 cup powdered sugar, butter, and salt with a fork until a crumbly dough forms.
Press the dough into the prepared pan so it covers the bottom and goes about ½ inch up the sides. Bake about 15 minutes or until it is a lightgoldenbrown. While the crust is baking, add sugar and zest to a medium size bowl. Smash the zest into the sugar using a fork, until the sugar is moist and fragrant. Add the remaining ¼ cup flour, eggs, juice and extract.
Remove crust from oven, pour the mixture over the crust. Cover the top of the mixture with almonds. Bake 20-25 minutes, or until the center is set.
